SUMMARY:Primrose Crossing the Channel
DESCRIPTION:Primrose Crossing the Channel\n\nJo Macgregor\, sailed Primrose (a 21ft yacht) single handed across the English Channel to the Channel Islands\, then on to the Brittany Coast of France\, and ended up sailing up the River Rance to Dinan before making the long trek back to Poole. \nA feat daunting enough in a 30 foot cruiser with crew\, but in a 21ft boat single handed……..that would be truely daunting for many others. \nIt turned out to be a voyage of discovery starting with a successful\, and bold crossing of the English Channel\, followed by anchorage/marina hopping all the way to Dinan in Brittany\, France. \nCome and hear the story\, with a photo slide & video show to accompany the talk\, showing yachting from Jo’s point of view on a single handed boat adventure. \nThis will prove to be a facinating talk full of adventure and discovery\, and definately a talk to put in your diary. \nGet there early to enjoy a meal in the restaurant before hand and make it a full evening of enjoyable food and entertainment. \nCruising Section website\nBook Primrose Crossing the Channel

SUMMARY:PYCCS Solent Week Cruise 2026
DESCRIPTION:This trip promises to be full of interest with five stops over eleven days around the Solent. This trip will suit both those new to cruising and the more experienced members that love to sail in company and help newer members enjoy more of their sailing. \nFirst stop on our trip around the Solent is Lymington. \nThis is one of our favourite venues for cruising. There are plenty of eateries\, a great town with many interesting shops\, and even 2 chandlers. \nWe will have full use of the Lymington Harbour’s Dan Bran pontoon and the Lymington Sailing Club’s facilities and bar. This historic\, coastal town offers plenty for the visitors. The colourful and vibrant town is an ancient seaport with a rich maritime history\, and with so much to see and do. Learn about the rich heritage of the town\, enjoy some retail therapy\, treat yourself to delicious food and drink and relax by the water. \nFriday 8th – Sunday 10th May (2 nights) \n  \n \nSecond stop Mercury Yacht Haven on the River Hamble. \nThis marina is set in a sheltered site where the waters of Badnam Creek join the River Hamble. Its excellent facilities include the Gaff Rigger bar and restaurant and a good chandlers. The marina is also just a short walk from Hamble village where you have some interesting shops and eateries. You can also take your dinghy up the river Hamble for a very interesting trip\, \nSunday 10th – Tuesday 12th May (2 nights) \n  \nThird stop Haslar Marina\, Gosport. \nTucked away just inside the south west corner of Portsmouth Harbour\, Haslar Marina is perfectly located for a cruise visit\,  with dining\, drinking\, staying over\, and there is the historic dockyards with the Warrior\, Mary Rose and Victory in Portsmouth.
