Haven & Berth Regulations

These notes support safe, considerate, and efficient use of the Haven and pontoons. All berth holders and visitors are expected to follow these guidelines at all times.

Haven Navigation

  • Speed Limit: Strictly 3 knots.
  • Maintain lookout for small/paddle craft and dinghies.
  • Keep to the right (Pass Port-to-Port).
  • Priority to sailing boats & vessels already manoeuvring.
  • Use engine propulsion (do not drift through fairways).
  • Avoid movement during large group dinghy launches.
  • Signal intentions early and manoeuvre predictably.

Berthing & Mooring

Minimum 4 Mooring Lines:

  • Two forward lines
  • One aft / side line
  • One spring

Fenders: Fit on both sides. Do not screw fittings into the pontoon structure.

Services & Safety

Electricity & Water

  • Top-ups available at the Office/Haven Office and Yard.
  • Transfer credit back to card before leaving.
  • Drain hoses safely: Close pontoon tap, then open user-end tap.

General Safety

  • Pontoons can be slippery; proceed with care.
  • Identify nearest Rescue Ladders (marked).
  • RIBs: Berth with engine toward the pontoon where possible.
