Regulation Governing all users of the Haven & Swinging Moorings

  1. No Pollution of Any Description shall be permitted in the Haven or Yard.
  2. Speed Limit 3 Knots (or lowest speed for safe manoeuverability).
  3. Sailing in Haven All berth occupying yachts to manoeuver under power in the Haven with the exception of Y.W. Dayboats and other similar craft and dinghies, which must be handled with consideration to other less manoeuverable craft. The Haven (for the purpose of this regulation only) is defined as a line drawn between the Southern end of”F” Pontoon and Northern end of “G” pontoon.
  4. Visitors Only bona-fide visitors who have made prior arrangements and who report as soon as practical to the Duty Staff are permitted into the Haven. If no berth is available visitors boats must be removed forthwith.
  5. Halyards must be secured and silenced at all times when not in use.
  6. Rubbish & Waste must be removed from the Haven and Yard by Members and Visitors.
  7. Overhangs No part of a craft is permitted to overhang the main walkways and no equipment other than mooring lines may be left on the fingers or walkways.
  8. Dinghies may not be left alongside craft in the Haven or in the Haven when not in use.
  9. Names of all craft must be clearly visible from the walkway of its berth.
  10. Securing vessels must be secured; with a minimum of 1 Bow Line, 1 Stern Line and 2 Springs, adequate fenders to protect adjoining craft, must be kept clean and tidy and (with the exception of YWDB) must carry a large fire extinguisher.
  11. Insurance all craft and/or property must be adequately insured against all risks caused by the craft, the owner or his/her crew whilst on or about the Club premises, Haven or Swinging Moorings. The owner must have a minimum of Third Party Cover of £3,000,000.
  12. The following are not permitted in the Haven:
    • Fishing, Swimming
    • Running or Cycling or Walkways
    • Barbecues or similar open fires
    • Dumping of Rubbish
  13. Damage to Berths in the event of a berth being damaged (i.e. the main walkway or the finger pontoons adjacent to the berth) the Club reserves the right to carry out repairs to the Berth at the Berth holders’ expense.
  14. Swinging Moorings are serviced annually and allocated in good faith by the Club; it is the owners responsibility to ensure the mooring is the correct size for their boat. The member is also solely responsible for ensuring that the gear that secures their boat to the mooring buoy is suitable.
  15. Health & Safety members are responsible for all Health and Safety issues concerning their boat and their crew when in the Haven, on Club premises or on the swinging moorings.
  16. Launch Service all members and their crews using the Club launch service do so at their own risk and must wear life jackets at all times. The launch driver has total command of the launch and his decision as to use of the launch is final e.g. use in adverse weather conditions.
  17. L.0.A. The Club reserves the right to measure all boats to confirm compliance with. Haven Byelaw 9. Any vessels found to be in excess of the allowable overall lengths will be referred to General Committee.
